|Vikram Seth is an eminent writer born in 1952, in Kolkata India. He got his education at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, Stanford University and Nanjing University. His very first novel, "The Golden Gate" explains the experiences of some friends staying in California. His highly acclaimed epic of Indian life, A Suitable Boy won the WH Smith Literary Award and the Commonwealth Writers Prize. He has also penned a travel book, From Heaven Lake: Travels through Sinkiang and Tibet. There are many more books in row, which has established this prolific writer. The most recent work by Vikram Seth is Two Lives (2005), which is a memoir of the marriage of his uncle and aunt.
