The Imperial Indian Mail

The Imperial Indian Mail was one of the most luxurious trains of the pre independence era in India. This train came in operation from the year 1926. This train was introduced by the British and for the British people who use to come in India from the Great Britain. This train ran between Calcutta and Bombay. This train was introduced as a joint project by the collaboration of The East Indian Railway and the Great Indian Peninsular Railway.
This royal train was introduced just to cater the royal people. It was scheduled in such a way that passengers coming at Ballard Pier in south of Bombay by ship can easily catch this train. Various documentaries films have been made on The Imperial Indian Mail.

This train accommodated 32 first class passengers and their staff.
