Steamed Hilsa



Steamed Hilsa is a very tasty dish that is basically relished among the people of West Bengal and other southern states of India. The procedure to make this dish is very simple. First of all clean the Hilsa and cut into equal slices. Make a paste of mustard seeds, salt and green chillies. Further, mix this paste with turmeric and mustard oil.
Once the paste is prepared, add the fish slices to it. Place the entire mixture on a greased dish. Cover and cook over steam in a pressure cooker. Steam it for around 10 to 15 minutes. Remove and garnish with chopped coriander and serve with rice.
