Ramakrishna Paramahansa



Ramakrishna Paramahasa was a rustic Bengali religious ecstatic and practiced Vaishnava and Shakti bhakti, Vedanta, Tantra, and other spiritual disciplines. He was born on February 18, 1836. Toward the end of his lifetime, he became a guru to Bengalis along with his disciple Swami Vivekananda. He was considered as an incarnation of God by his disciples.


Ramakrishna taught the basic truths of religion through parables, metaphors and songs by his own life eternally for fifteen years. He developed throat cancer and died on August 16, 1886, leaving behind a devoted of 16 disciples headed by the well-known saint-philosopher and speaker, Swami Vivekananda.
