Punjab Mail

The Punjab Mail was another classic train that started operation in the pre-independence era of India. This train was flagged off on June 1, 1912. This train ran on the long route between Bombay's Victoria Terminus (VT) and Ferozepore. There was another train by the name of Punjab Mail that ran between Calcutta (Now Kolkata) and Delhi.
The Punjab Mail was among the fastest trains in pre-Independence India (probably the fastest one at various times). This train like the Frontier Mail started running between Bombay (From VT) to Peshawar (Now in Pakistan). But unfortunately this extended service was discontinued. Punjab Mail got its air conditioned racks in the year 1945.
