Naushad Ali



Naushad Ali, born on Decmber 25, 1919, was one of the foremost Indian musician and music directors of Bollywood films. He was one of the top music directors of Hindi films from 1942 to 1960’s. He worked with a number of lyricists and won his first Filmfare Best Music Director Award for the film Baiju Bawra (1952), in 1954.
Naushad was awarded with the Dadasaheeb Phalke Award in 1981 for his lifetime contribution to Indian cinema. His last music composition was for the movie Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story (2005) directed by Akbar Khan. On May 5, 2006 he passed away in Mumbai.
