Mridula Sarabhai



Mridula Sarabhai, a Gandhian freedom fighter and activist was born in the year 1911. She belonged to the well-known Sarabhai family of Ahmedabad, and was influenced by the Gandhian ideals. She became associated with Vanar Sena and later on the Seva Dal of the Congress.
Sarabhai was elected to the All India Congress Committee as a delegate from Gujarat in the year 1934. She was also chosen as the Secretary, Sub Committee on Women's Role in the Planned Economy for the National Planning Board. Mridula was also selected as member of the Congress Working Committee as well as one of the General Secretaries of the Congress party by Jawahar Lal Nehru in the year 1946.
