Maha Shivratri |
|
Maha Shivratri is an auspicious religious Hindu festival devoted to Lord Shiva. It is celebrated every year on the 6th night of the month of Plalgun (February to March). It is believed that on this day Lord Shiva got married to Goddess Parvati. It also marks the night when Lord Shiva performed Tandava, the dance of primordial creation, preservation and destruction. The entire ceremony chiefly takes place during the night. |
