|Since the people in India are a mix of various cultures, traditions and religions. They all live in harmony with one another and have tolerance. However, when it comes to the children getting married, very few people have this acceptance for their decision. Since we follow the religion of our fathers and forefathers, it is expected that the offspring too should belong to the same religion.
The number of inter caste and inter-religion marriages is on the rise and this is because of the tolerance that people have developed due to their education. They consider compatibility and love over all religions and constraints. This line of thought however is not possible for the elders to follow. They believe in their principles very rigidly. However, with time it seems, the barriers will further be removed and the path will be set for more tolerance in the Indian scenario.
