Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She is the chairperson and chief executive officer of the fourth largest food and beverage company of the world. She was declared the successor to Steve Reinemund, as CEO of the company on August 14, 2006. As per the polls conducted by Forbes magazine, Indra Nooyi ranks fifth in the list of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women in 2007. She is the number one Most Powerful Women in Business for the year 2006 and 2007, according to Fortune Magazine. She was bestowed with Padma Bhushan by Government of India in 2007and nominated to the fellowship of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2008. |
