Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. It is situated in Jaipur and is also famously known as Palace of Winds.

Hawa Mahal is a pyramid-shaped structure from the front side and has five stories. It has 953 small windows that are decorated with tiny pattern work. The whole structure is built up of red and pink sandstone and is highlighted with white quick lime. The entrance to Hawa Mahal is from the City Palace side. The courtyard has a double storeyed building on three sides. There are no stairs to reach the upper floors, only ramps are there to take you on the upper floors.
