Guru Tegh Bahadur

Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth Guru of Sikhism. He was born on 1 April 1621 in Amritsar. He was the youngest son of Guru Har Gobind and was trained in the arts of archery and horsemanship. He was arrested at a place called Malikhpur near Anandpur after he had departed from Anandpur for Delhi.
Before being arrested he nominated his son, Gobind Rai (Guru Gobind Singh) as the next Sikh Guru. Later he was tortured until he would accept Islam but he could not be convinced and was executed on 11 November 1675 on the orders of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in Delhi. The martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur has been written by Guru Gobind Singh in Bachitra Natak.
