Children's Day



Children's Day is celebrated on November 14th every year, i.e. on the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It is celebrated as a day of fun and frolic and marks the celebration of childhood. This day is celebrated on Nehru's birthday because of his love for him.
Children used to call him by the name Chacha Nehru. This great statesman was very fond of children. According to him, children should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they were the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. He felt that children are the real strength of a country. He had special feelings towards children and also doted on them. As a token of love Children's Day is celebrated on his birthday.

Most schools arrange cultural programmes for the day. Children's Day is a day for children to engage in fun and frolic. Teachers of the school perform songs and dances for their students.
