Char Minar

Char Minar is a monument that is located in Hyderabad. This monument was built in 1591 by Quli Qutb Shah to celebrate the eradication of plague. It is basically a mosque but is popularly known as Char Minar because of its beautiful four minarets. It is fine example of the Cazia architectural style. It is basically built with granite and lime mortar.

The Char Minar is a two-storied building with the first floor being covered. This mosque is said to be the oldest surviving mosque in Hyderabad city. The Char Minar is square in shape, each side measuring 100 feet, with a central pointed high arch at the center. The minarets have the height of 48.7 meters.
