Cham-Cham



Chum chum is a traditional Bengali sweet. It comes in a variety of colors, mainly in light pink, light yellow, and white. It is very tasty and delicious.

To make this sweet delight, the ingredients required are Paneer, 10 to 12 cherries, a little lemon yellow color, 1 kg sugar, 3 cups water, 150 gms plain khoya, 150 gms fresh cream and 3 tbsp powdered sugar.

To make cham- cham, firstly add yellow color to the paneer and shape it into oblong pieces. Prepare sugar syrup of one thread consistency. Keep it in the syrup till the next day. Mix plain khoya with fresh cream and powdered sugar. Stir in a heavy vessel for a few minutes in reduced flame. Allow it to cool, knead the mixture well. Cut the cham- cham length wise, sandwich together with little khoya of mixture in between. Decorate with cherry on top. It can also be smeared with coconut flakes as garnish.
