|Ananth Kumar was born on July 22, 1959 in Bangalore, Karnataka and is a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He is a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party and stands for the Bangalore South constituency of Karnataka. Ananth was extremely influenced by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and chose Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad. He got imprisoned during emergency for 40 days. In 1985, he became the National Secretary. After graduating from Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad, he joined Bhartiya Janta Party. He was one of the most prominent persons, who fought for RamJanambhoomi cause. He held ministries like sports, tourism, youth affairs and culture, poverty alleviation and urban development.
