Amjad Ali Khan



Ustad Amjad Ali Khan was born in 1945, in Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh. He is a renowned sarod player and music composer of India. He has developed some exceptional ways of playing the sarod. He has spent a successful career spanning more than 40 years and is still one of the busiest classical artists in India.
Khan has won several prestigious awards for his contribution to classical music. In 2001, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan and the Asian Culture Prize in 2004. He has also received international fame for his input to the development of classical music. He was rewarded by Kathy Taylor, mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma State, with the Key to The City award in 2007.
