|Acharya Narendra Deo was born on October 30, 1889 in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. He was a renowned politician and theorist. His father was an advocate and he also followed his footsteps and got education in law. He founded the Democratic Socialist Movement in India. He was one of the few pioneers of the Freedom Movement. He was greatly influenced by Aurobindo Ghosh, Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and many more Marxist and Buddhist. He was an active member of the Congress Socialist Party, since the time of its inception in 1934. Acharyaji got imprisoned many a times at some point in the freedom movement. In 1938, he got elected to the Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh and again in 1946.
